Based on the brand's ethos, they saw themselves behind the scenes, like Intel Inside. They wanted the restaurants to shine more than them. However, in early 2018, it became apparent that it was important for the brand to increase awareness of its excellent service and experience. The restaurants were under so much pressure from the delivery apps, and their margins were thinning.
ChowNow has always been different from all other takeout delivery apps as they are subscription-based. This allowed restaurants to have obvious pricing and avoid them, and the customers pay every increasing fee that can reach up to 35% per order.

Overall, the brand's ethos was my main goal to bring to life—a warm and approachable vibe. They have great experiences and technology, so it was also important to showcase that but not go too techy. We also wanted people who saw themselves as conscious consumers to be able to represent the brand via elevated merchandise.
